Maria Severa Salcido

Maria Severa (Gauna) Salcido, 65, of Bangs, passed away, Tuesday, September 14, 2021 after a battle with ALS since June 2020. A visitation with family will be held at Heartland Funeral Home from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 15, 2021 and the Rosary will be held from 7:00 – 8:00 PM. A Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM with interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Early officiated by Bill Slaymaker.

Maria was born June 9, 1956 in Levelland, Texas to Narciso and Emilia Gauna. She attended Dimmitt High School and married Donaciano Salcido on February 4, 1972. Maria was a vivacious lady that loved life and all it had to offer. She was passionate about cooking for her friends and family and loved spending time with them. Maria loved to play bingo, casino games and cards with her family. She never met a stranger, and everyone was always invited to come hang out in the backyard of her house where food, games, fun and good times were always guaranteed. Maria adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her grand dog. Maria was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish, Catholic Church in Coleman, TX.

Maria is survived by beloved husband, Donaciano Salcido Sr. of Bangs; daughter, Jeannie Gomez and husband Albert of Brownwood; son, Donaciano Salcido Jr. of Kempner; sisters, Janie Ramirez of Dimmitt, Lydia Garcia and husband Ruben of Goodland, KS, Josie Garcia of Dimmitt & Norma Dominguez and husband Hilbert of Kyle; brother, Daniel Rodriguez and wife, Becky of Dimmitt; grandchildren, Aaron, Matthew, Ashley, Kimberly and the grand dog, Bud; great grandchildren, Hudson and Oaklynn; and many nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Narciso & Emilia Gauna; and brother, Narciso Gauna Jr.
