
In a short meeting today (Monday) of the Brown County Commissioners Court, approval was given to a new electricity contract for the County. The new contract will be with TXU Energy for five years. The cost rate for the electricity will increase slightly each year, as follows: Year One, .058-cents per kilowatt hour; Year Two, .059-cents; Year Three, .060-cents; Year Four, .061-cents; and Year Five, .062 -cents.
In other business:
*** Commissioners approved a survey plat of the M.W. Boysen Estate, presented by County Surveyor Don King. The Commissioners also approved payment to King for surveying a right-of-way portion of County Roads 192, 193, and 196.
*** Commissioners approved the use of fireworks in the County during the Memorial Day weekend.
*** Commissioners took no action on a burn ban, leaving the Burn Ban OFF for now.
