Despite the precipitation received in the area this week, the effect hasn’t been felt yet at Lake Brownwood.

As of 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Feb. 2, Lake Brownwood is now 8 feet, 4 tenths below spillway.

“We will receive some runoff from this icy weather but is not expected to make a significant difference,” the email stated. “Please pray for more rain.”

Stage 2 water restrictions in the Drought Contingency Plan remain.

Lake Brownwood is currently at 60.7 % capacity.

One week ago, the lake was at 61.1% capacity.

One month ago, Lake Brownwood was at 61.7% capacity.

One year ago, today Lake Brownwood was at 90.7% capacity.

Statewide all lakes capacity average is 72.6 %

BCWID#1 is asking all customers to be mindful of wasting water.

Stage 2: Moderate Drought Condition begins when Lake Brownwood hit 8 ‘ below spillway.

BCWID#1 suggest to its customers not already doing so to restrict water from outdoor sprinkling, watering lawns, shrubs, driveways,

and washing of automobiles to twice per week. The District will also suggest that customers employ “time of day” restrictions.

Please check with your retail water provider for the exact restrictions that you fall under.
