Linda Louise Horton Gober, 71, of Brownwood, passed away peacefully at her residence on January 28th, 2023.  Family and friends are invited to a funeral service 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2022 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 400 West Pecan Street in Coleman.  A private interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

Linda was born July 18th, 1951 in Coleman Texas, one of nine children to Homer Horton and Amy Sanders Horton.  She married John Wayne Gober on March 27, 1975 in Brady, Texas. Together they raised six children and ran their business, Ace Tree Service. They spent 35 wonderful years together before his passing in 2010.

Linda will be remembered as a loving mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Anyone that knew Linda, knew how much she loved her family. She loved sitting at her kitchen table just catching up, laughing and telling jokes.  She had a one of a kind sense of humor.  Linda will be greatly missed, but we know she is overjoyed to be reunited with her husband and soulmate.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert Hamill and Shane Hamill, her siblings Sadie Woods and Dave Horton, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well a great number of family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband John Wayne Gober, sons Kenneth Hamill, Royce Gober, and Johnny Gober, daughter Brenda Gober and her son Chris, her siblings Homer, George, Patsy, Dixie, Francis, Joyce, and her parents.

Remembrance and condolences can be written to the family via the virtual guestbook on Linda’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com.  Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Gober family.
