RudesealArtistYr2011Brownwood Art Association announces the Artist of the Year, Iris Rudeseal, who will be honored at a reception on Sunday, April 17 from 1-3.  This is also the opening date of the association’s annual spring exhibit and silent auction.  The public is invited to attend.

About the Artist of the Year: Iris Rudeseal has been interested in art since grade school.  She began pursuing this interest in 1989 when she found Marie Adams, an oil painting teacher.  She took several years of lessons from Marie and joined the Brownwood Art Association where she took an active part in the meetings and learned other techniques from the artists who demonstrated their talents at the monthly meetings.  During this time, Iris was also working as a Certified Public Accountant and making time for her art whenever she could.

The Center at 215 Fisk will also be open April 18-21 at the following times for public viewing and sales:

  • Monday:        10am-2pm
  • Tuesday:         6pm-8pm
  • Wednesday:   10am-2pm
  • Thursday:      11am-1pm Sack Lunch and 6pm-8pm Silent Auction
  • Friday:           10am-2pm

The tickets for the lunch are $6 and are available at the Art Center on Wednesday April, 6th from 10am- 4pm.  There will also be a raffle for a sitting with the people painters at $5 a ticket.
