AZLE – The No. 20 May Lady Tigers bowed out of the playoffs in the Class A Division I Region III semifinals with a 46-36 loss to No. 21 Dodd City Tuesday night.

May (29-8) reached the third round of the playoffs for the second year in a row, but was denied a trip to the regional championship game.

Dodd City (27-8) opened 16-10 lead after one quarter over May, which stood at 23-19 at halftime but increased to 31-21 after three frames.

Lauren Hicks finished with a game-high 12 points for May trailed by Jordyn Gerhardt with eight, Cortney Harper with seven, Chloe Lord with five, and McKenna Landes with four points.
