Brownwood Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Monday evening, injuring one that was flown by helicopter for treatment.  BPD released the following information Tuesday morning.

On Monday, September 21, 2015, at approximately 1755hrs, multiple calls were received of a shooting in the 2200blk of Fisk Ave.

Officers with the Brownwood Police Department arrived on scene and discovered three victims of an assault with one of them sustaining a gunshot wound to the head.  The adult male victim was flown by AirEvac helicopter to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth with non-life threatening injuries.  The remaining victims were treated at the scene by members of the Brownwood Fire Department and Allegiance Ambulance Service.

Investigation determined that the three victims were doing landscape work in an open field when confronted by four male subjects.  A fight ensued.  Evidence at the scene and information gathered led to the identity of the four suspects who were located close by.

Those arrested were identified as:  Rontrell Young (21), Brice Davis (17), Marcus Phillips (21) and Melvin Young (25), all of Brownwood.  All subjects were charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  This incident remains under investigation with other charges possible.

“A special thank you is extended to all of the medical responders for their quick action.  Also 911 callers proved invaluable with the information they provided.  It is through your assistance, through community involvement, that the arrests were able to be made,” said BPD Assistant Chief James Fuller.
