Central Texas Rural Transit District to Host Public Meeting

CARRLogojCentral Texas Rural Transit District will host two public meetings in the month of April, which the public is encouraged to attend.  One of these meetings will be held locally and the other will be held in Abilene.

The meeting scheduled in Brownwood is set for 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM April 15th, 2014 at the Family Service Center, located at 901 Avenue B in Brownwood.

CARR will offer free transportation to & from the meeting for people living in Coleman, Brown, Comanche, & Erath counties if you call by 3:30 PM one business day in advance
Beginning May 1, 2014 City and Rural Rides (CARR) will be implementing a new fare schedule according to CARR Mobility Manager Heather Langley. 

Fares will be calculated point to point $1 every 5 miles regardless of city limits as follows:

Fare Schedule

0 – 5 miles        $1.00
6 – 10 miles      $2.00
11 – 15 miles    $3.00
16 – 20 miles    $4.00
21 – 25 miles    $5.00
26 – 30 miles    $6.00
31 – 35 miles    $7.00
36 – 40 miles    $8.00

City And Rural Rides is a rural public transit service operated by Central Texas Rural Transit District. Transportation is available to the general public in their service area. Anyone may schedule a ride to any location in the service area and to limited cities out of the area. CARR can be used for various reasons including shopping, work, beauty shop visits, visiting family or friends, and doctor visits. CARR requires that trips be scheduled one business day in advance by 3:30 p.m. For more information or to schedule a ride, please call 1-800-710-2277. Early Chamber of Commerce will host their annual City Wide Yard Sale on Saturday, April 12, 2014.

Homes & businesses throughout the City of Early will join in to form a citywide yard sale.  Those interested in hosting a garage sale may host it at their own address or 10 X 10 spaces will be available in the Heartland Mall parking lot.

The Early Chamber of Commerce does all of the advertising for participants.  Maps listing all garage sales will be passed out in the parking lot of Heartland Mall or can be viewed at www.earlychamber.com starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014.

To have your address listed on the map costs $10.00 or to reserve a 10 X 10 space in the Heartland Mall Parking Lot costs $20.00.
