How to donate to local volunteer fire departments

All local volunteer fire departments are in need of monetary donations to help with fuel, equipment, and more. Brownwood News has compiled a list of how you can donate to each department.

  • May VFD – Donations are being accepted through Venmo. @mayvfd
  • Blanket VFD – Mail your donation to Blanket VFD, PO BOX 72, Blanket, TX 76432 or put a donation in the tin at Blanket City Hall during regular business hours.
  • Winchell VFD is accepting donations via Venmo. @Winchell-VFD  You can text 325-203-7993 if you have questions.
  • Zephyr VFD – Any monetary donations can be made through Venmo. @Zephyr-ZVFD
  • North Lake Brownwood VFD- address is 3330 Windjammer Drive, May Texas 76857 or Call (432) 209-3608
  • Lake Brownwood Bridge VFD is accepting donations through Venmo. @lakebwdbridgevfd
  • Bangs VFD – Donations can be taken to Bangs City Hall, located at 109 First St, Bangs, TX 76823. For questions, call (325) 752-6223.
  • Early VFD is accepting donations through Venmo. @Early-VolFireDept
  • Brookesmith VFD – Mail donations to Brookesmith VFD PO Box 713 Brookesmith, TX 76827

Citizens National Bank in Brownwood has also started a fund. All donations received will be split evenly between all the volunteer fire departments.

Bostick Auto and Truck Sales at 2210 Belle Plain is accepting cash donations. Cash donations will be matched up to $5,000. They will take checks or cash. Citizens can make a pledge by calling 325 641-1150.
