Sales Tax Report March 2022

All three Brown County cities received increased sales tax allocations from the State of Texas Comptroller’s office in March, though the percentage of increase in all three cities was lower than has been experienced recently.  The City of Early once again led the way with a healthy increase of 36.21%.

With the March allocation the cities are half-way through their fiscal year (October 2021 through March 2022), with all three showing nice increases Year-To-Date.

The March sales tax allocation reflects retail sales in January 2022.  Details for each city are below.

BROWNWOOD

The City of Brownwood received $478,897 in March, an increase of 2.42% over March 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date is $3,332,268, up 9.43%

The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $158,358 in March, an increase of 3.57%.  Year-to-date is $1,089,057, up 10.46%

EARLY

The City of Early received $182,423 in March, an increase of 36.21% over March 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date is $1,131,017, up 50.48%

The Early Municipal Development District received $60,236 in March, an increase of 37.43%.  Year-to-date is $370,499, up 51.97%.

BANGS

The City of Bangs received $14,725 in March, an increase of 3.56% over March 2021.  Fiscal year-to-date is $114,090, up 19.01%

The Bangs Municipal Development District received $2,209 in March, an increase of 0.50%  Year-to-date is $17,039, up 19.35%.
