The City of Brownwood will accept sealed bids until 2:00 PM January 28, 2022, for the purchase of improvements located at 108 N. Greenleaf in Brownwood, TX. The term “Improvements” means the approximately 1122 sq. ft. house and all attachments and contents in the structure and excludes the real property.

Sealed Bids are to be delivered to the City of Brownwood, 501 Center Avenue; Brownwood, TX 76801 or mailed to PO Box 1389, Brownwood, TX 76804, Attn: Christi Wynn, City Secretary with Bid# 01-2022 on the outside of the envelope.

The City Council may consider awarding the bid at its February 8, 2022 Council meeting to the highest, responsible bidder. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Terms of the bid and sale include:

-Minimum bid of $1000.00

-Improvements must be relocated from 108 N. Greenleaf at the purchaser’s expense.

-Improvements must be moved within 90 days of bid award.

-Remaining real property must be left in a usable, good condition — free of debris, and the bidder is responsible to make the site reasonably level with no holes, pits, craters or openings and to ensure that all utilities are capped and left in a safe condition.

-Bidder must bring Cashier’s check made out to the City of Brownwood in the amount of the bid within ten (10) days after the award of the bid and prior to removing the Improvements from the site.

-The Improvements are sold “As-Is, Where Is” and the City of Brownwood disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including, without limitation, any warranty of merchantability and any warranty of fitness for any particular purposes whatsoever with respect to the Improvements being sold under this bid. The bidder may assess the condition of the improvements at their own expense.

-The successful bidder shall release the City of Brownwood from any and all liability arising out of the moving of the Improvements, the clean-up and leveling of the real property and the condition and/or use of the Improvements and shall indemnify the City for any claims arising therefrom.

-The City of Brownwood and successful bidder shall enter into a bill of sale for the Improvements on terms and conditions consistent with this bid notice.
