Brownwood Lion senior safety Khyren Deal announced on Twitter Wednesday night that he has committed to play football at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

In his tweet, Deal said, “First I just want to thank the man above and everyone who has supported me throughout these past 4 years. I want to say thank you to my wonderful parents for always supporting and believing in me. None of this would have been possible without them. I also want to thank my coaches and teammates for making me a better player. After many conversations and multiple visits I’m excited to announce my commitment to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor to further my academic and football career.”

As a senior, Deal was a second-team all-District 5-4A Division I selection after leading the Lions with 98 tackles, including one for loss, and one interception.
