Barbara Ann Smith, age 86, of Coleman, took her last breath on earth and her first one in Heaven, on July 16, 2020.

Many in Coleman will remember her from the Shoppin’ Baskit where she worked and from her much beloved church, Fellowship Baptist.

She had been taken care of by the people of Coleman Healthcare and transitioned to hospice with those same people who she considered her extended family.  We thank them for the love and kindness they extended to our much loved mother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George Robert Gregory and Bessie Alice Barrier Gregory; her beloved husband, Versal Smith; and her siblings, Richard “Dick” Gregory, Elmo Gregory, Paul Gregory, Charles Gregory, Dollie Evelyn Shifflett, and Ruby Gregory.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Rorabaw of Burkett, Brenda Christian of Coleman, Ronnie  Jourdan of Andrews, and Rodney Jourdan of Andrews. She will be missed by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will host a visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Kenny Mitchell, pastor at Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

Memorials are suggested to the Fellowship Baptist Church, P.O. Box 816, Coleman, Texas 76834.

Remembrances, condolences and kind words can be expressed to the family at www.livingmemorials.com.
