The Howard Payne University women’s basketball was honored by the WNBA San Antonio Silver Stars and received their 2011 American Southwest Conference Championship rings on Friday.

Before the WNBA Silver Stars game versus the Los Angeles Spark, the HPU Lady Jackets received their 2011 American Southwest Conference Championship rings.  (pictured left)

The HPU women’s basketball team has cemented themselves as one of the most successful women’s collegiate basketball programs of the past decade in the State Texas with another American Southwest Conference title this season. It is their fifth in the past seven seasons, capped with their eighth consecutive 20-plus win season. This year they also made their sixth appearance in the NCAA tournament in the past seven years

The Lady Jackets also got to meet with SA Silver Stars forward Porsha Phillips after the game. HPU chead coach Joshua Prock, this year’s ASC West Division Coach of the Year, was the honorary coach at the Silver Stars the game.
