Donald Leon Ramsey

Donald “Don” Ramsey, age 85, of Early, passed away peacefully May 4, 2026. A public viewing will be held Thursday, May 7 from 8 AM to 5 PM at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. A graveside service will take place Friday, May 8 at 12 PM at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth.

Don was born December 11, 1940 in Vernon, Texas to John H. and Lelon Vester Ramsey. Don devoted his life to the Lord. He was a Pastor and Educator, with educational accomplishments ranging from Bible Baptist Seminary through Regis University in Denver, Colorado.

Don married the love of his life, Shirley Frances Sunday on June 4, 1960 in Fort Worth. They were one month to the day shy of being married 66 years. They were blessed with two children, Jerry and Staci.

Don was former pastor and a member of Shiloh Bible Church in Richland Springs, and enjoyed preaching, studying the bible, writing, playing games with family, fishing and oil painting.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Ramsey; son, Jerry Ramsey and his wife Donna; daughter, Staci Ramsey; grandchildren, Brandi M. Walker and husband Matt, Dustin Harper and his wife Byanka; 5 great-grandchildren; cousins, Neomi Ramsey Davis and spouse C.T. and H.D. Ayers and spouse Donna; numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Johnnie H. Ramsey, Jr.
