IOWA PARK – The Early Lady Horns completed their run through the Iowa Park softball tournament Saturday with a 19-2 victory over Class 5A Wichita Falls Legacy.

The Lady Horns struck for 12 runs in the bottom of the first inning and tacked on six more in the second.

Early manufactured 14 hits, including for four extra bases, as Kayleigh Caperton, Andie Simpson, Paizlee Scott, Avery Stifflemire and Jaime Lyon recorded two each, while Jamie Vassar, Sunny Groom, Aleeya McCombs and Syndey Greaves each added one. Caperton and McCombs both tallied three RBIs trailed by Simpson, Groom and Greaves with two each, and Stifflemire, Vassar and Scott with one apiece.

Legacy also committed nine errors in the field

In the circle, Adysn Atchley and Leslee Beard combined to allow two earned runs on one hit with three strikeouts and four walks.

Early (11-4, 0-0) will open its District 8-3A softball schedule at 5 p.m. Tuesday when it welcomes Millsap.
