LLANO – The Brownwood Lady Lions returned to the win column to close out the Llano softball tournament Saturday, picking up their 10th victory of the season, 1-0 over Shallowater.
All five tournament games for the Lady Lions (10-7) were decided by one run, as Saturday’s lone run was produced off the bat of Amarrea Thomas – a solo home run with one out in the bottom of the third inning.
In the circle, Kaydence Allen tossed her second no-hitter of the season, striking out 12 batters with four walks, and the Brownwood defense committed on error.
The Lady Lions notched three hits in the game – the blast from Thomas along with a triple by Hanah Campos and a single from Allen.
Brownwood is back in action at 7 p.m. Tuesday when it hosts Llano, who it did not face in the Llano tournament.
