SWAT conducts search and arrest warrant, charges include Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Theft

The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Friday afternoon:

During the early morning hours of Friday, January 23, 2026, members of the Brown County Regional SWAT team conducted a search and arrest warrant at a residence in the 2600blk of Durham St. The suspect, 65-year-old Abel Ramirez was taken into custody without incident.

Detectives with the Brownwood Police Department and assisted by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office conducted the search of the property. A 2007 New Holland front end loader, valued at approximately $45,000 was located on the property and confirmed stolen out of Arkansas.

Inside the residence, detectives located approximately 6 ounces of suspected Methamphetamine along with almost ½ an ounce of Marijuana.

Ramirez was transported to the Brown County Jail and charged with Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG1, 4-200grams in a Drug Free Zone (1st Degree Felony) and Theft of Property between $30K and $150K (3rd Degree Felony).
