Joyce Elaine Galbreath

Joyce Elaine Galbreath, age 75, of Brady, Texas, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in Menard. Elaine was born on August 11, 1949, in Mason, Texas, to T.A. Galbreath and Minnie Mae (Ellison) Galbreath. She grew up in Brady and was a Brady High School graduate. She operated a day care business in Brady for several years. Later, she and her husband (Tommy Wallace) owned and operated Wallace Shepard Funeral Home in Brady for several years. She enjoyed growing flowers, gardening and collecting frog figurines. She loved making jewelry, reading, sewing (especially things for her grandchildren) and watching the Green Bay Packers play football. She attended Vision Heights Church until her health failed. She has lived in the area most of her life.

Graveside services for Joyce Elaine Galbreath will be at 2:00pm, Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Long Mountain Cemetery in Mason County with Phillip Cruts officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday morning, from 10:00am to 11:00am at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady. Friends may view Elaine’s Memorial Video Tribute and/or sign her online memorial guest book at www.leatherwoodmemorialchapels.com.

Elaine is survived by her long-time companion Terry Lange of Mason, Texas; daughters Cyndy Hanna and husband Jeff of Brady, Texas and Marlana Purcell and husband Eric of Brady, Texas. She is also survived by her brother Lester Galbreath and wife Barbara of Albany, Texas; her grandchildren Marshall Martin, Bradley Martin, Briana Huerta, Kelci Cruts; four great-grandchildren; nephews Will Galbreath and Stacy Galbreath and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister Jonella Galbreath and sister Susan Galbreath.
