Jay White

Funeral services for I. J. “Jay” White, age 51, of Brownwood, will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2024, in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenleaf Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, November 8, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00.

Jay passed from this life on Friday, October 25, 2024.

I. J. White Jr was born September 24, 1973, to I. J. White Sr. and Ivy Moore White in Del Rio. He was preceded in death by his parents I.J. White Sr. and Ivy Moore White.

Jay accepted Christ at an early age at Bible Way Church in Del Rio. He played the drums for the church choir.

He received his formal education in the Midland Public School District where he graduated from Midland High School in 1992, and went on to attend Midland College.

He was employed with ResCare for almost 20 years. He loved his job and those that he cared for.

Jay loved his family and enjoyed spending time with everyone. He also had a second love which was the game of tennis. He loved the game, and you could find him on a tennis court several days a week. He entered tennis tournaments in Mason, Tx and Fredericksburg, Tx where he won first place in several tournaments. He had another love which was baking. He baked the most beautiful cakes and delicious cookies for family and friends.

Jay leaves to cherish his beautiful memories; sisters, Carol McDonald of San Antonio, – Barbara Davis (Alpha) of Dallas, and Sharon Hansen (Steve) of Brownwood; brothers- James Ray (Antoinette) of Arlington, Victor Ray of San Angelo; an Aunt, Eula Harrison of Baltimore, Maryland; and a host of other family, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and dear friends.
