Heartland REALTORS® celebrates the one-year anniversary of the Counselors of Real Estate® Team’s visit to Bangs, Texas, through the National Association of REALTORS® Transforming Neighborhoods Program. We’re thrilled to highlight the city’s impressive progress!

Leadership & Collaboration

Bangs has a strong mayor and city council who want to balance projected growth with service and amenities for the citizens that reside here, now and in the future. Additionally, the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) restructured and is actively working with a local developer on a new housing project.

Communication & Engagement

Communication with citizens has seen a significant boost. The city website features informative banners, water bills carry important notices, and a new Facebook page keeps residents engaged. Citizens are actively participating – a task force under the Municipal Development District (MDD) hosted a successful BBQ Cookoff event with plans to make it annual. This task force leader, Jobi Blacketer, now serves on the EDC, strengthening collaboration.

Community Enhancements

The MDD opened the Bangs Event Center’s exciting new splash pad. The city strategically placed an ad in the Brown County Guide, a high-circulation publication. Events are thriving with a monthly Farmer’s Market (March-October), community cleanups, National Night Out, Trunk or Treat, and a Christmas Parade. Due to high demand, vendors are pushing for a year-round Farmer’s Market!

Infrastructure & Growth

The crucial water line replacement project is on track to be completed by year’s end. This paves the way for utilizing the Community Development Block Grant to begin much-needed street improvements. Additionally, a local family is building a new restaurant, adding to the city’s vibrancy.

Heartland REALTORS®: Proud Partners

Heartland REALTORS® is honored to have been a part of Bangs’ strategic planning. We believe in strong community partnerships and fostering sustainable growth.
