Brown County Sheriff Vance Hill reported Tuesday night that a traffic stop was conducted on Highway 279 near Lake Brownwood, and at the time the violator put a gun to his head and threatened suicide.

Mental health deputies responded and after nearly two hours convinced him to surrender. The individual is being evaluated by mental health professionals as of 8:45 p.m.
