Barbara Woods

Barbara Woods, age 92, of May, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, August 16, 2024. Family will receive friends at Heartland Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, August 20. Funeral Services for Barbara will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, August 21 in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at May Cemetery.

Barbara was born on April 30, 1932, to Grace and Herbert Glenn in May. She graduated from May High School, and married Charles Woods on October 6, 1950. Barbara took pride in being a homemaker and raising their two children, Susan and Chuck. She was a faithful member of May Methodist Church, and May First Baptist Church for many years. Barbara enjoyed cooking, reading, cross stitch, and Bible study. Most of all, Barbara loved spending time with her family.

Barbara is survived by her children, Susan Edwards of May, and Chuck Woods and wife Lindsey of May; 6 grandchildren, Julie Brown, Angela Browning, Rebecca Henderson, Anna Woods, Emily Woods, and Chase Woods, 10 great grandchildren; sister, Sue Ferguson and husband Richard of Spring Branch. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Woods; brother, Wendle Glenn; sister, Dink Todd; and her parents, Herbert and Grace Glenn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the May First Baptist Church Men’s Ministry and the May Senior Citizens. Online condolences, memories and tributes can be made to the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
