Susan Ann Cooper Crader

Susan Ann Cooper Crader, age 83, of Brownwood, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024. The family will host a memorial service at a later date.

Susan was born on May 4, 1941, to Clifford Roy Cooper and Hattie Lee Moore Cooper in Fort Worth. She graduated from Alice High School and then completed a course in Cafeteria Management at the University of Houston – Victoria. On February 6, 1959, Susan married Homer J. Crader and they began their life together. The couple was blessed with six children. Susan worked for Hoskins Electric Company in Austin and eventually retired from there. Susan enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting, quilting and jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of Midtown Church in Brownwood.

Susan is survived by her children: Caren Crader, Tamara Crader Reeves and spouse Dale, Amy Crader Westbrook and spouse Jason; daughter-in-law, Donna Crader; grandchildren, Kevin Crader, Stacy Moreno and spouse Antonio, Mathew Clark, Tabitha “Tabby” Looney, Christie Looney, April Cash and spouse Robert, Hattie Crader, Jacob “Jake” Crader, Kari Ogburn and spouse Andrew, Kirsten McKinney and spouse Dustin, JR Griffith and spouse Emily, Johnny Reeves, Christopher Reeves and spouse Serena, Elizabeth Lundgren and spouse Alex, Bekah McCrary and spouse Payton; sister, Norma Cooper Harp and spouse Melvin; sisters-in-law, Betty Anderson, Sandy Colby and spouse Phillip, Verla Long and spouse David; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Susan was preceded in death by both of her parents; her sisters, Maudel Wren and Patsy King; her husband, Homer J. Crader; her children, Sheila Clark and Homer Boyd “Buddy” Crader; and her sisters-in-law, Jackie VanCampen and Mikki Sitze.
