Michael Cole McDowell, known to friends and family as Cole, passed away on July 14, 2024, in San Saba, Texas, at the age of 51. A Visitation for Cole will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba. A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Colony Cemetery in Bend, Tx. and will be officiated by Pastor Justin Bell. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba.

Born June 27, 1973 in San Saba to Tom & Catherine Miller McDowell, Cole spent his life in the town he loved, leaving a lasting impact on those around him. He is survived by his parents, his wife Sarah, daughters Macye of San Saba, Stephanie of Rowlett, and numerous extended family and friends.

Cole was a jack of all trades. He traveled the United States building radio towers, worked for the City of San Saba in almost every department, and most recently enjoyed his job with San Saba County. Cole had many passions as his family and friends could attest to. He was very proud of his cattle and worked hard to keep the McDowell Ranch active. He loved to cook and enjoyed competing in cook offs with friends as well as the taco shops that he ran. No one left Cole’s house hungry. He loved being outdoors especially if it involved the water or fishing. His smile and joking nature brightened up any room. He didn’t know a stranger and made friends just about anywhere he traveled. He left an imprint on anyone that met him. He was an amazing son, husband, father, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Pallbearers: Joe Pete Smith, Jody Eden, Clay Vogel, Bryan Christian, Jeff Partin, Chad Whitely, Richard Huron, and Robby Johnson. Online Condolences can be made at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com
