William Henry “W.H.” “Bill” Simpson, Jr

William Henry “W.H.” “Bill” Simpson, Jr of Goldthwaite, TX went to his heavenly home on Friday, July 12, 2024. W.H. was born January 10, 1934 in Mills County, TX to Henry Simpson and Elvie Henry Simpson. He attended Mullin High School and after graduating in 1954, enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served for two years. On February 22, 1957, he married June Hamilton in Goldthwaite, TX. The couple settled in Austin where he worked as an electrician until retirement.

W.H. was a longtime member of Crestview Baptist Church where he was baptized in 1972. His favorite pastimes included traveling, woodworking, and making pencil drawings. He also enjoyed historical accounts of the Old West and World War II.

W.H. is survived by daughter Dianne Slatter of San Angelo; daughter and son-in- law Judy and James Hejl of San Angelo; grandchildren: Johnny Loehr of Burnet, Jayme Hejl of San Angelo, Matt Hejl of Glendale, CA, and Katie Hejl and husband Taylor Stobaugh of Dallas; great grand-daughter Naomi Loehr of Marble Falls; sister Frances Hamilton of Goldthwaite, sister-in-law Nita Simpson of Granite Shoals and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held Friday, July m19, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Oakview Cemetery, Mullin Texas. Interment Oakview Cemetery, Mullin, Texas.

Arrangements by Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home, Goldthwaite, Texas.
