How do you connect with nature?  Do you have pets or houseplants?  Are you a gardener?  Do you enjoy walking, visiting parks, or camping?  How about birdwatching?

The Brownwood Art Association is looking for original artwork that is related to plants, animals, and people, and/or their environments and activities, indoors or outdoors.  Images can be realistic, abstract, or non-representational.  These works can be submitted for the upcoming Flora and Fauna Art Exhibit to be held at the Brownwood Art Center from August 1 to August 28.  Most 2D and 3D media are acceptable.

Exhibit Coordinator Donna Lewis says “We’re interested in works that consider how the human need to connect with nature is reflected in our everyday interactions with plants and animals, both at home and in the wild.”

The complete prospectus is available on the BAA website:

https://www.brownwoodart.net/upcoming-shows

Art intake is Friday, July 26, from 2-6 pm at the Art Center, 215 Fisk St.  The opening reception will be Thursday, Aug. 1 from 5-7 pm.  Pre-registration is encouraged  to expedite the art intake process, and can be done online, at the website given above.

There is no entry fee for BAA members in good standing.  Non-members will be charged $15 per entry, with a maximum of 3 entries allowed per artist.

For more information about the Brownwood Art Association and Art Center activities, follow the BAA on Facebook, stop by the Art Center gallery from 2-6 pm any weekday, or call 325-641-2916.
