William “Bill” Roy Baty, 84, of Brownwood, Texas passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Visitation with the family will be held at Heartland Funeral Home from 4:00 – 6:00 PM, Sunday, July 14, 2024. The funeral service will be held in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 15, 2024 with interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Joe Baucum officiating.

Bill was born on August 10, 1939 in Bay City, Texas to Alvie Frank and Clovis Juanita (Henley) Baty. Bill graduated from Welch high school, attended South Plains Junior college in Levelland, Texas. Bill grew up in the Welch area and farmed in the area for about 20 years. He also drove a charter greyhound bus for many years and he owned Early Trailer sales and ran that business with his wife, Cindy faithfully for over 13 years. Bill was an avid traveler, he loved camping and traveling with his RV visiting different spots. Bill served at the Early First Baptist Church for over 20 years. He loved his kids and grandkids and was always up to make a memory and visit.

Bill is survived by his wife, Cindy Baty of Brownwood; sister-in-law, Patsy Baty of Welch & Deborah Baty of Midland; son, Gary Baty and wife Mary of Kerrville; daughter, Lana and husband Mark Deer of Kerrville, TX; stepdaughters, Jennifer and husband Noel of Georgetown and Janice Zobac of Ohio; grandsons, Jeremy and wife Shanice of Tenn, Denny and wife Kaci of Houston, Marty of Kerrville, Blake and wife Emma of Clifton, Noel John Taylor of Georgetown and Jonathan Bettinger of Ohio; granddaughter, Jessica of Midland.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Doyle and Richard; his first wife, Sue; and an infant son, Steven.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Lake Brownwood Bridge Fire Department through Venmo @lakebwdbridgevfd
