Elida Ramon, age 92, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Baylor Scott & White, Temple, Texas. Visitation for Elida will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Blaylock Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2024 at San Saba’s First Baptist Church and will be officiated by Pastor Alvino Valdez. Interment will follow at the San Saba City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.

Elida was born on January 4, 1932, in San Carlos, Coahuila, Mexico. She was born to Jose Jimenez and Teresa Flores Jimenez. Elida’s early childhood was spent in Mexico until her parents moved to San Saba, Texas in 1944 where she spent the rest of her life.

Elida was a hard-working woman doing such jobs as ironing clothes or cleaning houses for other people to provide for her two children. She was extremely happy when she got a job at Eventide Nursing Home because all she had to do was walk across the street to get to her job. Elida was employed by the Eventide Nursing Home for 44 years until her retirement in 2008. Elida was tenacious in getting medical attention to Moises when he was a child and a big supporter for her daughter, Gracie, to complete her education.

Although Elida has passed away from this life, memories of her will linger with her family and friends.

Elida will be missed by her children: daughter, Graciela Ramon and son Moises Ramon of San Saba. Elida is survived by her “grandchildren”: Irene Jimenez of Copperas Cove, Carla Jimenez and Mauro (Maui) Jimenez of San Saba. She is also survived by two brothers: Homero Jimenez of Stephenville, Texas and Jaime Jimenez of De Leon, Texas.

Elida is preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Jesus Jimenez, Jose (Pepe) Jimenez, Manuel Jimenez, Leonardo Jimenez, Enrique Jimenez, Antonio Jimenez and Salvador Jimenez as well as two sisters: Elisa Jimenez and Delia Jimenez.

Pallbearers: Chan Jimenez, Alonzo Jimenez, Javier Jimenez, Dario Jimenez, Edward Flores, and Gonzalo Flores.

Honorary Pallbearers: Juan Romero and Mauro Jimenez.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Elida’s name can be sent to San Saba’s First Baptist Church 208 W. Wallace St. San Saba,Tx. 76877 or The San Saba City Cemetery Association 3905 W. Hwy. 190 San Saba, Tx. 76877
