July Sales Tax Down in All Three Brown County Cities

July sales tax allocations were released this week by the Texas Comptrollers office, and all three cities in Brown County received amounts down from July 2023.  July sales tax allocations reflect taxable retail sales in May 2024.  Details below.

BROWNWOOD

The City of Brownwood received $571,017, a decrease of 8.19% compared to July 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date (October 2023 through July 2024) Brownwood has received $5,884,561, down 2.30% compared to the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $188,793, down 6.31% vs. July 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date the Brownwood MDD has received $1,922,122, down 1.21% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.

EARLY

The City of Early received $173,791, down 21.32% compared to July 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date Early has received $2,013,903, down 11.39% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Early Municipal Development District received $57,463, down 21.40% vs. July 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date the Early MDD has received $656,751, down 11.79% vs. the previous fiscal year-to-date.

BANGS

The City of Bangs received $19,433, down 8.20% vs. July 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $213,409, an increase of 3.92% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.

The Bangs Municipal Development District received $2,847, down 7.80% vs. July 2023.  Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $30,813, up 3.16% over the previous fiscal year-to-date.
