Kathy Brockman, 69, of Richland Springs, Texas, entered heavens gates on May 28, 2024. A visitation for Kathy will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Richland Springs and will be officiated by Pastor Mack Elkin. Memorial donations in Kathy’s name can be made to the American Diabetics Association or San Saba Child Welfare Board. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba.

Emelia Kathleen Brockman, affectionately known as Kathy, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 28, 2024 in San Saba, Texas. Born on November 1, 1954 to Nona Maria Bryant and J.C. ‘Hoot’ Gibson in San Saba, Texas.

Kathy was a loving and devoted wife, an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had very fond memories of growing up on Deep Creek Ranch spending her time hunting and fishing with her dad and brothers.

Kathy graduated from Richland Springs High School in 1973, where she participated in cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, and track. She received her Bachelor’s in Education from Howard Payne University in 1985. Her passion for teaching led her to a fulfilling career as an elementary math teacher, where she dedicated 27 years to nurturing young minds with kindness and patience. The same year, Kathy married the love of her life, Rob Brockman. Together over the last 38 years they have raised four wonderful children and enjoyed their time away in the mountains of Cloudcroft.

Kathy was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Richland Springs where she served as Treasurer for many years. This is where she discovered her love of quilting and attended various quilting retreats with her ‘quilting buddies.’ Kathy loved spending time outdoors with her family, especially her grandchildren, sharing her love of nature as well as encouraging them to kick off their shoes and go barefoot.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, one sister – Andrea, three brothers – Jerry, Red, and Johnny. She is survived by her husband, brother Doug and his wife Wanda, sister-in-law Grace, sister-in-law Dixie and her husband Galen, brother-in-law Tim all of Richland Springs, four children – Laura and Keith of San Saba, Mary and Cooper of Brownwood, Robert and Crystal of Bronte, Kendra and Alex of Richland Springs, 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Keith Mack, Cooper Mitchell, Alex Oldham, Devin Duncan, William Oldham, and Chris Brockman.

Honorary Pallbearers: Lucas Oldham and Cohen Mitchell.
