Lonnie Dean Keel, age 64, of Brownwood passed away on March 1, 2024, in Austin.

A come and go Celebration of Life for Mr. Lonnie Keel will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 5pm-7pm at Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Lonnie Dean Keel was born in Gorman TX on September 20, 1959, to Eugene and Shirley Keel. Lonnie graduated from high school in Brownwood. He spent 19 years working for Brownwood Bulletin then another 21 years at Vulcan Materials as a heavy equipment operator. On December 23, 1983, he and Tonya Benson were married and had two boys: Brandon and Jason.

Lonnie did so love a good joke. He was a prankster and will be sorely missed. He loved spending time with family and friends. Tinkering with an old car or truck with his buddy Billy Day. Camping out with his kids and grandkids at the state park was a favorite. Nathaniel and Zoe were his pride and joy.

Left behind to cherish those memories are sons, Brandon Keel of Coppers Cove, Jason (Megan) of Clarksville, TN, grandchildren, Nathaniel and Zoe, sister Darlene Hair of Brownwood TX. Many thanks to Pastor Artie Woodcox for the times spent with Lonnie speaking truth and trust from the Lord.

Preceded in death by parents, Gene and Shirley Keel, brothers Kenny and Everett Keel, little sister Rebecca Keel, Brother-in-Law Jimmy Hair.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to:

Clear Creek Cemetery

c/o Darlene Hair 3348 Stanley Ln. Brownwood, TX, 76801

Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
