Four members of the Early Lady Horns powerlifting team qualified for state based off their performances at the regional meet in Dublin over the weekend.

Alexa Hernandez, Julienne Socong, Matty Boswell and Rayana Barzart earned berths in the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Class 3A State Meet, which will take place Thursday, March 14 in Frisco.

At regionals, Socong won the 114-pound weight class with 785 pounds lifted, and was named Outstanding Lightweight Lifter in the deadlift. Boswell placed second in the 114s with 765 pounds lifted.

Hernandez was first in the 123s with 900 pounds lifted, and she was named Outstanding Lightweight Lifter in the squat and bench press.

In the 242s, Barzart placed first with 915 pounds lifted.

Henslee Middleton also competed at regionals for Early, and came in fourth in the 105s with 560 pounds lifted.
