Freddric Lynn Anderson

Freddric “Freddy” Anderson, age 86 of Cisco, passed away Friday November 3, 2023, in Brownwood.  

A graveside service for Freddy will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco, Texas on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at 3:00 p.m.  Visitation will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.  Local arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Freddy was born on January 24, 1937, to William Fred and Florene Barnes Anderson in Cisco, Texas. He graduated from Cisco High School in 1955.  He went on to attend Cisco Junior College and Howard Payne University before being drafted by the US Army into the Korean War.  He spent his military career as a paratrooper serving in Germany and Korea.  

Freddy married Carol Vondalea Yeager on May 25, 1962.  He worked for West Texas Utilities for 39 years as a lineman and electrician.

Freddy was active in his son’s 4-H, FFA, school, and roping activities along with serving more than 40 years in the Cisco Volunteer Fire Department.  Along with community involvement, he was passionate about ranching, horses, and rodeos.

Freddy is survived by his wife, Vonda Anderson of Cisco; son, Scott Anderson and his wife Ginger of May; a brother, Jerry Anderson and wife Phyllis of Cisco; brother-in-law Jim Eakin of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Blake, Ryan, and Sydnee Anderson all of May; great-grandson Ezekiel Anderson of Brownwood; nephew Bobby Don Ables and wife Gail of Odessa; great-niece Tomi Joe and her husband Ronald “RJ” Holliday of San Antonio; great-nephew Lakota Ables of San Antonio. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Florene Anderson; his sister, Barbara Anderson Eakin.

In leu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Cisco Volunteer Fire Department, 411 Conrad Hilton, Cisco Tx 76437 or to your local Fire Department.  Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com
