James Robert ‘Bobby’ Hallum

James Robert “Bobby” Hallum, age 64, of Early, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2023. Cremation is under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home in Early. A memorial service will be held at Heartland Funeral Home Chapel at 4:00 PM, Saturday, August 19, 2023, guests are invited to come earlier at 3:00 to visit with the family prior to service.

Bobby was born on July 2, 1959, to Robert Gray and Glenda Francis Hallum in Brownwood. He graduated from Brownwood High School, then attended Tarelton State University before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1983. Bobby served his country for over 11 years. After being honorably discharged, Bobby worked at 3M in Brownwood for a number of years. Bobby married Cherry Michelle Hallum on October 12, 1986 at Union Presbyterian Church in Brownwood. Together, they attended church there for many years. Bobby enjoyed fishing, reading, and playing games with his family. He loved his family and his dogs, Peanut and Loaki. Bobby was also a member of the NCOA in San Angelo.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Cherry Hallum; sons, Robby Hallum and Jimmy Hallum; 2 grandchildren, Collin Hallum and Jacob Hallum; father and step mother, Robert and Lynda Hallum; brothers, Doyle Hallum and wife Diane, Chris Hallum and wife Cindy, Michael Hallum and wife Shelly; step sisters, Deana Denison and husband Brandon, and Tammy Johnson; brother-in-law, Jimmy Dee Parker; 8 nieces, 10 nephews, and other family. He is also survived by a host of friends.

Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Hallum; maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Bessie May Ellis; paternal grandparents, James and Florence Hallum; great grandmother, Lillian Preas; brother-in-law, Coby Parker; sister-in-law, Terry Parker; and his nephew, Keith Alexander.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Corine the Smith Animal Center in Brownwood (3016 Milam Dr. Brownwood, TX 76801) Online condolences, memories and tributes can be made to the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
