The Early Police Department issued the following information on its Facebook page Thursday afternoon:

On Wednesday, May 31 at approximately 8 p.m., officers responded to the 1000 block of Early Blvd. regarding 3 intoxicated females in parking lot.

An officer arrived and began attempting to interview one of the subjects to issue her a citation for public intoxication and then release her with a friend. The female then began walking away from the officer and refused to comply with the officer’s commands. She then ran to a car and attempted to get in and shut the door. The officer then attempted to arrest the female for public intoxication while she continued to resist the arrest.

Other females then began trying to interfere with the officer’s duties by trying to get between the officer and the suspect, one pushed the officer to get him away from her, at which time the officer called for assistance.

Units from Early PD, Brownwood PD, Brown County SO and DPS responded to help calm the situation.

Three individuals were arrested. Shadie Mae Hernandez, a 29-year-old from Brownwood, was charged with 2 counts of assault on public servant, interfering with public duties, resisting arrest and public intoxication. Sarah Maria Hernandez, a 26-year-old from Brownwood, was charged with interfering with public duties and public intoxication, Lorena Solis, a 34-year-old from Brownwood, was charged with interfering with Public duties and public intoxication. The investigation is continuing.

The officer was treated and released for minor injuries. One female was cleared by Doctors to go to jail for minor injury after she repeatedly beat her head on the patrol car window. The female refused any treatment.
