The Howard Payne University athletic department on Monday announced the hiring of former Howard Payne standout Presley Fisk as head women’s basketball coach.

Presley (McKethan) Fisk was a four-year women’s basketball player for the Lady Jackets from 2014 to 2018.

“We are extremely excited to have Coach Fisk back to HPU,” said Hunter Sims director of athletics. “Coach Fisk has always displayed loyalty and integrity during her time here. I am personally excited about her ability to lead young women spiritually through the game of basketball.”

After her college playing career was over at HPU, Presley worked at Stephen F. Austin State University as the video coordinator under head coach Mark Kellogg from 2018-2020. During her time at SFA, the Lady Lumberjacks were 48-13 while she was on staff.

“I am thrilled to be back at Howard Payne University in this role,” said Presley Fisk. “I look forward to the future of HPU women’s basketball and serving all the student-athletes along the way. I would like to thank Dr. Hines and Hunter Sims for this incredible opportunity.”

Coach Fisk has also spent time coaching at the high school level at May high school in May, Texas. She gained recruiting experience working for the Howard Payne admissions department as an admissions counselor from 2020-2021.

As a player for the Lady Jackets, Presley scored 692 career points with 263 career assists. Her career assists numbers are just inside the top 10 all-time at HPU and her 150 career three-pointers placed her second all-time in HPU history. She also helped lead the Lady Jackets to two ASC West Division Championships during her playing career.

She excelled in the classroom at HPU and was a three-time Academic All-Conference selection and graduated in 2018 with a degree in Kinesiology, and completed a Masters degree in Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin in 2020.

Presley, her husband Brandon, who works for the City of Brownwood, and their daughter Baker reside in Brownwood.
