John Raymond Young

John Raymond Young laid down his working tools at his home in May, Texas and passed on July 7, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Monahans, Texas on April 5, 1946 and is preceded in death by parents, John Lee and Eva Maurine Young of Hurst, Texas.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Kay Young, brothers Mike, Steve, David, and Walter, and sister Beth, son John Dalton Young and his wife, Dannette Young of May, Texas; and son Mark Allen Young and his wife, Amy Young of Monahans, Texas; grandchildren John Keith, Andrew, Matthew, Kory, Riley, and Bryson, and great-grandchildren, Eva, Katie, John Thomas, Elijah, Isaac, Grayson, and Molly.

John was a 1964 graduate of Monahans High School, Monahans, Texas and attended Texas Tech University. He retired from a long career in oil production from Amoco Oil Company. He was a Master Mason and member of the Grand Lodge of Texas in Sonora, Texas. He was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, in Brownwood, Texas where the memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 10 am. Masonic burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in May, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Children’s Medical Center Dallas, Shriners Children’s Hospital, Union Presbyterian Church of Brownwood, or the American Heart Association is appreciated.
