Donnie (Hoss) Gifford

Donnie (Hoss) Gifford, age 55, of Brownwood passed away Monday, May 30, 2022, at his home.

A graveside service for Donnie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3, at Clear Creek Cemetery in Bangs. A visitation will be held from 6 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Donnie was born August 23, 1966, in Brownwood, Texas to Burl and Linda Gifford. He was a loyal fan of Dallas Cowboys Football and Brownwood Lions Football. Donnie loved spending time with his family, traveling to Colorado, and fishing and camping trips. He also enjoyed taking care of his chickens and guineas. Donnie was helpful around the farm, and he enjoyed being a member of the Boy Scouts of America.

He was preceded in death by his father, Burl Gifford; grandparents, J.W. and Lora Gifford, Ed and Ida Mae Gill.

Donnie is survived by his mother and stepfather, Linda Gifford and Art Lancaster, sisters Bonnie Belvin (Ricky) and Donna Hair (Tully), and brother Ray Gifford (Diane), all of Brown County. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Donnie’s name to Brown County United Way, 901 Avenue B, Brownwood, 76801. Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
