Dorothy Margaret (Tyson) Warren

Dorothy Margaret (Tyson) Warren, 92, of Weatherford formerly of Blanket, passed away February 9, 2022. A visitation with family will be held at the Heartland Funeral Home, Friday, March 11, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held in the Heartland Funeral Home, Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 2:00 PM with interment to follow in the Duren Cemetery, Mills County.

Dorothy was born November 18, 1929 in Blanket, Texas to Noah Jepthis and Eula Tyson. She was raised in Blanket and attended Blanket and Mullin Schools. Dorothy married Ray Warren when he returned from World War II. Dorothy was a homemaker and Ray worked for the Railroad. They raised two daughters, Faith and family was at the center of her world. Dorothy attended the Blanket Church of Christ where she loved to sing and worship. She did work at Brownwood Manufacturing and a brief period at Gibson’s before taking up the full-time role of running their household. Dorothy enjoyed being in her garden and with her flowers always commenting on their beauty. As time went by and their family grew, Dorothy loved to spend time her grandchildren and great grandchildren teaching them about flowers, life and how to shell peas. Dorothy and Ray would relax and spend time at Aubrey’s Playhouse in Goldthwaite, taking her turn singing, watching Ray play some music and visiting with friends. She was a devoted wife to Ray for 72 years, loved her family and her friends.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Donna and Larry Blair of Longmont, CO.; 4 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Warren; daughter, Carol Larrentree; brothers, Orville and Eugene Tyson.
