Charles William (C.W.) Moore

Charles William (C.W.) Moore, 83, of Abilene died Saturday, January 22, 2022 in an Abilene hospice facility. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Blake Cemetery, near Williams in Brown County, with his brother, Paul (Cooter) officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde.

C.W. was born January 22, 1939 in Williams to Charles C. and Alta Mae (Hawkins) Moore. He graduated from May High School. He married Myra (June) Jones in Gorman on May 24, 1958 and they moved to Abilene in 1960. C.W. was a traveling salesman for Athletic Supply for 29 years. He loved to fish with his brothers and friends on the Pecan Bayou.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Myra (June) Moore of Abilene; two sons, Cary Moore and Michael Moore and wife Jennifer, all of Abilene; daughter, Jolene George and husband Eric of Tuscola; two brothers, Larry Moore of Zephyr and Paul (Cooter) Moore and wife Kay of Mullins; nine grandchildren, Lisa Carroll, Chris Carroll, Courtney Carroll Smith, C.J. Moore, Amanda George, Alicia Moore, Caleb Moore, Parker Moore and David Dominguez; thirteen great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

C.W. was preceded in death by his parents, S.M. and Jerry (Cotton) Moore.
