Kenneth Fredrick Nacke

Kenneth F. Nacke, age 93 of Brownwood passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021. Services will be 10 am Tuesday, November 30th at the Grace Lutheran Church and a visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Monday, November 29th at the Heartland Funeral Home with a private family interment to follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Ken was born Monday, September 10, 1928 in Detroit, MI to Alfred and Martha Nacke. He graduated from Merrill High School and also graduated from Michigan College of Mining and Technology with a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineer degree. Ken married Eileen Zulauf on April 12, 1953 in Kingsville, MD and the two began a life together that blessed them with 2 children. Ken was employed for 40 years as a Mechanical Engineer at Saginaw Steering Gear, Dow Chemical, Superior Cable and Tandy. Outside of work, Ken enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing and carpentry. He also enjoyed being a mentor for the church youth groups. Many children can waterski because of Ken Nacke. He was also very active in church affairs and served as President and Building Committee Chairman. Ken was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Brownwood.

Ken is survived by his daughter Karen Yager and husband Steve of Colorado Springs, CO; son Bruce Nacke of Dallas, TX; 2 grandchildren, Justin Yager and wife Gloria of Ogallala, NE, Travis Yager and wife Ava of Colorado Springs, CO.

He is preceded in death by his wife Eileen Zulauf Nacke on March 26, 2016; his parents, Alfred and Martha Nacke; and sister Margarete Mann.
