The Brown County Sheriff’s Office issued the following press release Wednesday:

Effective immediately, Sheriff Vance Hill, with the approval of the local health authority and the Texas Jail Commission, has suspended on sight inmate visitations.

This is in response to several staff and inmates being infected with the COVID-19 virus.

Attorneys and other agencies may continue visitations using in place precautions. Video visitation is still in place and being utilized for inmates.
