Brown County Sheriff’s Report – July 20

  • On Friday, July 16, Deputy Andre Smoot responded to a follow up referencing theft. While on scene, information was gathered for fraudulent use/possession of credit card/debit card and a report was completed.
  • On Saturday, July 17, Deputy Toby Mathis, responded to FM 1850. This was for reports of a domestic not in progress. Mathis spoke with a female who claimed her boyfriend hit her and made threats against her. When speaking with the male, visible injuries were observed, and he made claims of being assault by the woman. The female was then placed in custody for Continuous Assault Family Violence, F3.
  • On Saturday, July 17 at approximately 5:04 p.m. Deputy Mike Sheedy, was sent to East Commerce (Hendrick Urgent Care). This was in regard to a dog bite victim seeking treatment.
  • On Saturday, July 17 Sgt. Taylor Fletcher towed an abandoned truck which posed a traffic hazard on Highway 279 near Rocky Creek Baptist Church.
  • On Sunday, July 18, Brownwood Animal Control located a loose pig. The pig was captured and transported to the holding pens at Brown County Sheriff’s Office. A report has been made.
  • On Sunday, July 18 at approximately 8:59 p.m. Deputy Mike Sheedy, was sent to 8000 County Road 105. This was to investigate a call of criminal mischief. The complainant reported someone had spray painted several areas of roadways in Precinct Four with derogatory and vulgar language.  A report was generated and will be forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Division for follow up.
  • On Monday, July 19, Deputy Jim L. Cornelius was assigned a call for service at the Law Enforcement Center. A victim reported her five month old Nubian female goat is missing from County Road 334, Blanket.
  • On Monday, July 19 at around 2:45 p.m. Deputy Carlyle James Gover arrived at Giles Trade Lot. This was in reference to a recently reprocessed vehicle, which had hardware and items missing from the interior. A report was made.
  • On Monday, July 19 at around 7:51 p.m. Deputy Carlyle James Gover contacted a complainant by phone. This was in regards to the complainant reporting theft of property, which occurred almost a year ago. A report was made.
