Patricia “Patty” Sheffield, age 87, of Coleman, passed from this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Sheffield officiating.  A private interment will follow at the Mt. View Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

She was born Patricia Ruth Duke on July 20, 1933 in San Antonio to Cleveland Duke and Opal Stewart Duke.  Patty grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Jefferson High School.  She married the love of her life, Charles Sheffield on May 2, 1952 in San Antonio.  She and Charles brought the ministry to many churches around the country before settling down in Coleman.  They were married for 68 years. Patty was loved by all that knew her and was always a shining light to those around.  Patty was rarely seen without a smile.  She loved to paint, make arts and crafts, write poetry, and play games.  She never wavered from her love of the Lord and her family.

Patty is joined in heaven by her parents, Cleveland and Opal Duke; her son, Randy Sheffield; her daughter, Sally Graham; and her granddaughter, Mandy Parker.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Sheffield of Coleman; her daughter, Susan Nixon of Gallup, New Mexico; her brother, Stewart “Sonny” Duke and wife Donna of West Virginia; many grandchildren and even more great-grandchildren whom she loved deeply.

Remembrances, condolences and messages of comfort can be expressed to the family at www.livingmemorials.com.  Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Sheffield family.

To protect each other from the COVID-19 infection, we ask that you comply with the CDC Social Distancing Guidelines as well as Governor Greg Abbott’s request that a face covering be utilized.
