County surpasses 2016 early voting total, more than 9,000 ballots cast

Brown County eclipsed its 2016 voting total of 8,985 on Tuesday as 450 more ballots were cast, bringing the 2020 total to 9,172.

Three days of early voting remain:

* 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28

* 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29

* 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30

Early voting is being held at the Brown County Elections Office, located at 613 North Fisk.

Local races include:

– The Brown County Water Improvement District, where votes can be cast for none, one, two or three of the following candidates:

* Tommy Davis

* Dennis W. Graham

* Johnny Hays

* Jimmy Jones

* James E. McMillian

* Frank Niemiec

– Bangs City Council, where votes can be cast for none, one, two or three of the following candidates:

* Marisa Craddock

* Rick Phelps

* Shelia Roberts

* Carroll Prince Wells

Bangs ISD School Board, where votes can be cast for none, one or two of the following candidates:

* Larry Drury

* Ken Loewrigkeit

* Lyndyl Tidwell

Early ISD School Board, where votes can be cast for:

* Place 1: Chance Barr, Chad Hill

* Place 6: Toni Hill McMillan, Christene Pruett

* Place 7: Sandy Benson, Tammi Cox Ledbetter

Also on the ballot are the  presidential election between Republican incumbent Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden; the race for U.S. Senator between Republican incumbent John Cornyn, Democrat Mary Hegar, Libertarian Kerry McKennon and the Green Party’s David Collins; and the District 11 U.S. House of Representatives race between Republican August Pfluger, Democrat Jon Mark Hogg and Libertarian Wacey Alpha Cody.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
