Nelson finishes first, Lions place second at Hico cross country meet

Led by Caleb Nelson’s first-place overall time of 17:16, the Brownwood Lions finished second as a team at the recent Hico Invitational cross country meet.

The Lions placed behind San Saba and ahead of Glen Rose and Stephenville.

Brownwood was clocked an average time of 19:33 as Cameron Phipps was third in a time of 19:08, Andrew Boren was 13th in a time of 19:52, Vincent Floyd was 15th in a time of 20:22, and Evan Fraze came in 20th in a time of 21:06.

The next meet for the Lions is slated for Sept. 16 at Glen Rose
