Mary “Biddie” Gandy, 94 (Brownwood)

Mrs. J.L. “Biddie” Gandy, age 94, of Brownwood, died Sunday, December 15, 2019 at her residence. 

A visitation for family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman. 

A funeral service will follow the visitation at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Ty Kerley officiating. 

Interment will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Mary Agnes Cole on May 5, 1925 in Coleman to Leonora “Leo” Cole and Alice Minerva Smyth Cole.  Mary grew up in Coleman where she attended school.  She married J.L. Gandy on August 16, 1975 in Altus, Oklahoma.  Mary had a passion about spreading the love of Christ.  Together, she and J.L. participated in several ministries around Coleman including the clothing ministry and helping school children obtain school clothes and school supplies.  Mary loved her family and would spend as much time with them as possible.  She leaves behind an amazing legacy for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.L. Gandy; two sisters, Lenora Cole, Margarite Mitchell; three brothers, Harry Cole, Ronald Gene Cole, and John “Sonny” Cole.

She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Kerley and husband Ty of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Karen Baumguardner of North Lake Brownwood; Son-in -law, Robert “Bob” Baumguardner; seven grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family suggests memorials in memory of Mary to the Coleman City Cemetery Project, C/O Ann Watson, 721 W. College Street, Coleman, Texas 76834.

Pallbearers will be David Steele, Chad Steele, Jacob Baumguardner, Jason Stephens, Casey Kerley, and Dalton Kerley.  Honorary pallbearers will b Jesse Carbajal, Ryan Smith, Terry Thomas, and Allen Cole.
