Alyce M. McLean, 93 (Brownwood)

Alyce M. McLean, age 93, of Brownwood passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at a local nursing home.

Funeral Services for Alyce will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Bartlett officiating; burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to services from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Alyce was born to Samuel Franklin and Clara (Davis) McLean on May 18, 1926, in Lometa. She moved to Brownwood in 1935 and has a been a resident for over 70 years. Alyce graduated from Brownwood High School. After high school, she went to work for French Tool and Supply Co. She then worked for Henry Colyer, CPA, Massey Auto Parts for 25 years, Colyer and Lowery, CPA, and eventually retired from Burl Lowery, CPA firm on May 1, 1995.

Alyce is survived by nieces, Cathy Just of Granbury, Linda Bartlett and husband Charles of Wichita Falls, Cherita Barker and husband Robert of Brownwood, and Lesly Dorsett of Brownwood; nephews, Robert McLean and wife JoAnne of Brownwood, Jimmy Talley of Wichita Falls, Brian McLean and wife Tamara of Cedar Park, Richard Talley and wife Cindy of Corsicana; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, also great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Clara McLean; two sisters, Evelyn Talley and Katherine Louise McLean; three brothers, Herron, Daily, and Walter McLean; and one special long-time friend, Sue Bacon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Solaris Hospice (413 Center Ave. Brownwood, Texas 76801) or Anchor Baptist Church (4298 Armory Rd. Wichita Falls, Texas 76302). Online condolences for the family are welcome at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
