Brownwood News – During the Monday meeting of Brown County Commissioners, special recognition was given to Brown County Water Improvement District Lake Patrol at Lake Brownwood.

Brown County Judge, Dr. Paul Lilly, presented a framed plaque to Brock Johnson representing Lake Patrol.  “I was talking with TCEQ the other day and they were singing the praises about our Lake Patrol and it reminded me that I don’t think a lot of people understand just how much responsibility they have,” Lilly said.  He pointed out that, in addition to boating safety during the summer they also inspect all of the docks.  “They also patrol the entire perimeter of the lake to make sure no one is dumping any raw sewage or anything like that into the lake.  I think a lot of time when we talk about public safety and law enforcement here in Brown County, (and no disrespect) our lake patrol seems to be forgotten because they keep such a low profile.   I wanted to take this opportunity, before the Court, to present them with a special recognition for the outstanding job that they do,” Judge Lilly said.
